Report from The Postcard Project

The postcards are really rolling in now!  THANKS to all of you who are sending cards.  Keep 'em coming.  I just wanted to share with you an exceptional card sent by my friend Janno Gay, who is the proprietor of Flower Brook Pottery in Dorset, VT.
I've received so many wonderful cards!  Instead of posting them on this blog, I thought it would be simpler to create an album in Facebook.  So here it is

During Art and Soul's Kansas City Retreat in April, I will be hosting a FREE one-hour postcard making session, on Thursday, April 4, 5 - 6 pm.  That is during the break between day and evening classes.  This is just for fun, with absolutely no obligation to send the cards to my post office!

  1. A group here held a collage jam to make postcards. Everyone brings collage materias and puts them on or near a table you can all sit around, you get a bunch of 4x6 index cards, each one takes a card and collages something onto it, someone says "Pass" and you pass the card to your left. A card arrives from your right, with a collage element on it, and you add to it till someone says "Pass"... You start a new card whenever you feel like it. And so it goes. We ended up with a fantastic collection of postcards, and it was fun because of course we talked and laughed into the night and couldn't get too attached to any particular outcome or product.

  2. As soon as I replace my printer cartridges, I'll print my cards and put them in the mail. I love this type of project and the response to it is amazing.

  4. Somehow I seem to have missed this project...but count me in although a card from Australia will take a while to get there. Hope it keeps the PO open.

  5. Frigid temperatures have kept me from getting out to my own village post office, but the intention to send you a postcard is still there. Fun project for a good cause!

  8. just finished painting mine....though it came out darker than I thought it would. Will get to the post office at the weekend to send it off....another one from the UK! We love an art challenge here (and have seen many local post offices struggle to survive).
